Veronica Rooke was in Grade 1 when she started writing really wacky stories and illustrating them. She announced to the big, wide world that she was going to be an artist! Problem was, no-one else appreciated her crayon masterpieces and said she was a little bit … um … weird, suggesting maybe a different career. Veronica decided that being a bit weird sounded like fun, so chose not to listen to her critics (Mum and Dad) and followed her dream. She is writing and drawing today and still having fun. (Without the crayons.)
